Being an entrepreneur demands that you always be “switched on.” That’s because, in the life of an entrepreneur, there is always something to be done: from taking deliveries, to meeting up with potential new customers and many more. While this lifestyle can be exhilarating at times, it can also affect your health, regardless of how much you enjoy what you do.

If you want to be as productive as possible, you would have to take good care of yourself so you can keep getting ahead in the game. To help you, here are 7 tips on how to remain healthy while running your business.

1. Prioritize your body and health

Eat well and stay hydrated. Take care to buy good products for your skin. Clean up regularly. Take precautions during harsh weather conditions. Ensure to take any prescribed medications as directed by your doctors. Report any ailments to your doctors immediately. Take fruits regularly as they are beneficial to your health.

2. Find ways to laugh

Smile more. Befriend a funny person, have a favourite comedian, read the funnies and be very intentional about it. Make laughter your morning routine.

3. Surround yourself with healthy-minded people

Frankly, people influence people. If you are with a great set of people, then your etiquette, behaviour, character, etc will be refined. Disconnect yourself from toxic environments and people that make you question your self worth or put you down instead of encouraging you. These would help you think and work smart.

4. Get plenty of sleep

Do not deprive yourself of healthy sleep. Sleep at the right times and wake up at reasonable times too. Have a siesta time and stick to it. Be intentional to lay your head when you feel sleepy.

5. Take breaks

Go on vacations. Spend time with your friends and family outside work. Go hiking, try a new recipe, engage yourself in your hobbies and other things that interest you, attend that function, go on that road trip, etc. Just do something to take a break from your normal routine every now and then.

6. Have a to-do list of everything you need to do daily

You do not need to overwork yourself. Taking things one at a time will make you feel fulfilled. Don’t try to handle multiple things all at once, finish one task before starting another.

7. Become Accountable

Get someone that can always give you feedback concerning your health and how well you are taking care of yourself. Let them tell you how well you are doing.
