Are you a young African passionate about climate change, policy, and making a real impact? The Africa Youth Negotiators Fellowship (AYNF) is now accepting applications for its 2025 cohort and this could be your chance to be at the frontlines of international climate diplomacy.
What’s the AYNF Fellowship All About?
This isn’t just another program. AYNF is a transformational leadership platform where you’ll gain technical skills, strategic insights, and hands-on experience to actively participate in and shape national and global climate negotiations including major events like the UN Climate Change Conference (COP).
As a fellow, you won’t just attend meetings you could co-author policy briefs, advise delegations, and sit in closed-door sessions that influence global climate decisions.
What to Expect
The 2025 edition will be delivered in two power-packed phases over four weeks:
Phase 1: In-Person/Virtual Training (1 week)
Location: Ghana (residential) or join virtually
Learn the foundations of climate diplomacy, negotiation tactics, UNFCCC systems, and more.
Phase 2: Virtual Working Groups (3 weeks)
Online mentorship, policy simulations, and real collaborative work focused on African climate priorities for COP30 in Brazil.
Who Can Apply?
You should apply if you:
- Are 15–35 years old and a citizen of any African country
- Are passionate about climate justice, diplomacy, and policy
- Have interest or experience in climate negotiations or advocacy
- Can commit to both phases
- Can communicate well in English
