In a bid to strengthen women-led businesses in Nigeria, the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) has awarded N2 million in business grants to two exceptional female entrepreneurs at the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) Annual Conference in Lagos.

The grants, worth N1 million each were presented to Toyibah Shehu Mohammed, founder of FarhM’s Food and Sauce Global Limited, and Helen Gabriel, founder of Ogy’s Cakes. Both women emerged winners from the WIMBIZ Entrepreneurship Masterclass, an initiative designed to equip female entrepreneurs with business knowledge, mentorship, and funding opportunities.

Championing Women in Business

Speaking at the event, Jolomi Fawehinmi, NBC’s Director of People and Culture, reaffirmed the company’s belief in the power of women-led businesses to drive national growth.

“At NBC, we believe that when women succeed in business, entire communities thrive,” she said.

The recognition, she explained, aligns with NBC’s ongoing commitment to economic inclusion and gender empowerment, a core part of its sustainability agenda.

At the same conference, NBC’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Oluwasoromidayo George, joined a panel discussion themed “Leading from the Inside Out: Balancing Ambition, Vulnerability and Purpose.” She encouraged women to lead authentically and stay aligned with their personal values, even in competitive environments.

A Platform for Growth and Connection

The 2025 WIMBIZ Conference, themed “Own. Walk. Nurture.”, brought together hundreds of women across business, public service, and social sectors to discuss leadership, growth, and self-development. Beyond the grant awards, the conference provided a space for networking, mentorship, and inspiration for women determined to grow their businesses and careers.

For small business owners, particularly women-led enterprises, the NBC grant represents more than just financial support, it’s a vote of confidence in their potential and an encouragement to keep pushing boundaries.

As the Nigerian entrepreneurship landscape continues to evolve, initiatives like NBC’s partnership with WIMBIZ highlight a powerful truth: when women rise, communities prosper, and the nation grows stronger.
