President Muhamadu Buhari in October 2020 approved free business name registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for 250,000 businesses across the nation.

Now, the Federal Government has announced that 100,000 business names have been registered for free by the Corporate Affairs Commission under its CAC Scheme in partnership with the Survival fund.

This was disclosed in a statement by the FG on Wednesday, January 27, 2020.

Pleased to announce that we have hit a milestone of 100,000 Business Names registered free of charge by @cacnigeria1 as part of the @SurvivalFund_ng. Registering these existing and new businesses brings them into the formal economy, with benefits for the Govt and the businesses. https://t.co/MHWXFu9pnG

The FG said: “Pleased to announce that we have hit a milestone of 100,000 Business Names registered free of charge by CAC Nigeria as part of the Survival Fund NG”

“Registering these existing and new businesses brings them into the formal economy, with benefits for the Government and the businesses.”

WHAT SOME ARE SAYING:

Who are the people that benefited from this? People I know a lot of people that tried repeatedly to apply but it never went through.

Milestone?? How was this done?? I remember sending a completed copy of the form to my state Aggregator and I didn't get any acknowledgement or reply.

The honest truth about this free Business Name registration is that it isn't as transparent as expected. I just think each state focal person need to be checked. The @NigeriaGov gave the clear intent under @SurvivalFund_ng and i think transparency is the hiccup
