Hey Smartpreneurs! We had an amazing and honest session with seasoned filmmaker, Chris Ihidero.

The session was themed: The truths and the lies of making money in the film industry. Ihidero spoke about the importance of apprenticeship and training in filmmaking and in business generally. It’s great to attend schools and get certifications but greater to learn directly from the best in your field of interest.

Be open to apprenticeship and training. Ihidero had gathered enough knowledge from Amaka Igwe studios and he credits where he is today and all he’s done so far to the veteran filmmaker, Amaka Igwe who made sure he understood the workings of the industry before her passing in 2014.

In this session, Ihidero also pointed out that a lot of people, especially youths, are not patient. He said they need to make sacrifices to get to where they wish to be, they need to imbibe the ‘doing’ spirit. “There is too much talk going on, too much haste to get to the top. You have to pay your dues, I’m sorry. There are no short cuts to glory” Ihidero said.
