Ready to launch your finance career on a global stage? The World Bank Treasury Summer Internship 2026 is now open for applications and yes, it’s paid. Here’s everything you need to know: from eligibility and expectations, to how this opportunity could shape your future as a Junior Analyst.

This isn’t just any internship, it’s a ticket to the inner workings of the World Bank’s financial operations. Imagine gaining hands-on experience, honing your analytical tools, and working alongside world-class professionals, all while earning a competitive hourly stipend.

Highlights for Aspiring Interns

  • Program Duration & Location
A full-time, in-person engagement taking place in Washington, D.C., from May 26 to August 3, 2026. Expect 400 hours of immersive experience within the Treasury teams.

  • Stipend Details

    Interns receive:

    • $21.80/hour (net) for non-U.S. citizens

    • $26.20/hour (gross) for U.S. citizens
That’s competitive pay for building a global financial career.

  • Professional Focus & Career Path
This is more than an internship, it’s an investment in your future. With full-time participation and no concurrent employment allowed, interns launch directly into the path of becoming a Junior Analyst for two years upon graduation.

  • Who Qualifies?
Eligible candidates must be in their second-to-last year of a four-year degree in finance, business, economics, or related fields, expecting to graduate between December 2026 and September 2027. Good academic standing is a must, and you must be fully available—this is no side hustle.

  • Elite Experience
Interns rotate through three Treasury teams in ten weeks, starting with onboarding, through back-to-back rotations and culminating in a capstone presentation. Weekly sessions with senior leadership, access to a World Bank-issued laptop, and visa sponsorship elevate this experience further.

Why should a young aspiring professional care? Let’s be real:

  • Live the global dream: Be in the heart of Washington, D.C., contributing to decisions that affect economies worldwide.

  • Pay meets purpose: Earn a meaningful stipend while putting your mind to real-world challenges.

  • Bridge the gap: Transition smoothly from university into a thriving career as a Treasury Junior Analyst.

  • Grow in a diverse ecosystem: Collaborate with peers and experts from over 60 countries in a richly inclusive environment.

Deadline: October 12th, 2025
