Abstract painting. You can start your own studio in your house and sell your paintings online.

Graphics designing: Everyone needs a graphics designer these days. You could take courses online on how to use Canva, photoshop and so on. Tell your friends about what you can do and also put your designs out there.

Bag making: From your house you can get materials and make your own line of bags.

Tailoring: During the lockdown, I have a friend who got a needle and thread and just started sewing. Now, she is so much better and has sown skirts, gowns and nice blouses for herself.

Hair accessories designing: I have a friend who learnt how to make an hair accessory in one day and she made over 60k from it. Go online, watch videos and start designing what you can.

Studio photography: You can start taking pictures in a small studio you can set up in your house and then sell those pictures online.

Picture framing: You can sell handmade picture frames with different quotes and designs that could be yours, from songs or from the internet. They could be plastic, glass or other materials

Pattern making: If you’re a good tailor, you could create nice patterns that you can sell online.

eBook writing: You could write your own eBook with ideas or experiences or even instructions that will be very useful to others and then sell it online.

Online course creation: You could create online courses on topics people would like to be trained on. You could put together small guides or a hack book that will be very useful to others and they’d be willing to pay for.

Toiletries Making: You can learn to mix a few basic ingredients, along with scents and other materials, to make soaps, lotions and other hygiene products.

Scarf and Turban making: There’s a new wave of love for scarves and turbans right now, you can take advantage of this opportunity and make nice silk scarves that you can sell online.

Customizing phone cases: Maybe you never knew this is a thing but it is. You can buy plain phone cases and then design them because people love fancy pouches and they change them often too. You could go online, search for basic designs and then customize them.

Gift packaging: You could start a business that helps people to gift their loved ones. A lot of people want to get their loved ones stuff but don’t have the actual time to go to the market or store to get the gift and wrap them. You can put together thoughtful items for people to buy in a good packaging that can be directly delivered to their loved ones. You could even help them shop for their list.

Crocheting: You could make nice blouses, ties, skirts and gowns. Then sell it online at a discounted price. You could dedicate time to watch how others online make theirs and also various designs to attract customers to them.

Which of these are you going to start today? It’s better to start something than to stay idle. So don’t worry about failing, start learning and applying yourself.
