As a small business owner, you may feel like you don’t have the resources to build a solid reputation but it doesn’t cost a fortune. You have the power to control what customers are saying about you. Here are five great tricks to help any small business owner build a winning business reputation.

Check your current reputation

This is one of the first things to consider when building your business reputation. Start by analysing where you stand right now. Figure out if you need to clean up anything.

You can achieve this by doing a quick Google search about your brand.

It’s also a good idea to Google your new business name. Not only to see how easy it would be to rank for that search term, but also to see if there is any competition using the same name that someone could confuse with your own company.

If anything you don’t like pops up while Googling yourself, go ahead and get rid of them online.

Knowing your current reputation will help you determine where to start managing your reputation.

Build a website

A website serves as a central hub of information for anyone looking up your details online. This gives you the best opportunity to present what’s important to you and most impressive.

Your Website should have your full name in the URL. This will help you to rank higher in your search results. It will also give you added credibility in the search results by having a proper website.

Don’t forget to include a description and a bio all about you. Also add a call to action.

Respond to online reviews

Online reviews and ratings of your business can give you valuable insights into what and how customers really think. So listen in and identify any issues, concerns, and weaknesses reviews may be able to point out. Also, take the time to respond because it shows customers that you care about their feedback and that you consistently strive to make things right.

Stay true to yourself and your brand

In other words, be authentic. Authenticity can make you sexy and irresistible. Focus on what you can do and deliver. Creat positive experiences for your customers. Don’t force things simply because you want to go viral. Consistently deliver what you promise your customers and the buzz will build itself around your business.

Conclusion

Never think that you don’t have the ability to influence how customers perceive your brand. Find ways to build your business reputation and strengthen it.
