The 2SCALE program has committed €65 million (₦113 billion) to strengthen Nigeria’s agriculture and to support over 221,000 farmers and 3,621 small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This effort, aimed at making agribusiness more inclusive and profitable, is already driving economic impact across the country.
2SCALE (Toward Sustainable Clusters in Agribusiness through Learning in Entrepreneurship) is one of Africa’s largest agribusiness incubators. Funded by the Dutch government, the program focuses on unlocking growth opportunities in agriculture while tackling food security and job creation.
Empowering Nigerian Farmers and Agripreneurs
Through its interventions, 2SCALE has helped thousands of smallholder farmers increase their productivity. These farmers now have better access to tools, training, financing, and modern farming methods. Additionally, the program connects them with reliable markets, allowing them to earn more and grow sustainably.
For SMEs in the agri-value chain, the support goes even further. 2SCALE offers guidance on how to manage operations efficiently, adopt climate-smart practices, and build stronger links to retailers and processors. Entrepreneurs in the sector are also gaining vital skills to scale their ventures and attract investment.

Inclusive Agribusiness for Women and Youth
2SCALE is especially focused on empowering women and young people in agriculture. By designing inclusive business models, the program ensures that female farmers and youth-led enterprises have equal access to resources, funding, and training.
This approach not only fosters economic inclusion but also encourages innovation and long-term sustainability in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Why This Matters to Entrepreneurs
Agribusiness remains one of Nigeria’s biggest untapped opportunities for entrepreneurs. As the country continues to face food supply challenges and youth unemployment, programs like 2SCALE prove that with the right support, the sector can drive both profit and impact.
For MSMEs, this investment means access to new partnerships, better infrastructure, and tools to navigate the agricultural value chain more confidently.
As Smartpreneur continues to spotlight meaningful support for Nigeria’s business ecosystem, 2SCALE’s work is a shining example. With the right resources and targeted funding, agriculture can become a thriving space for startups and SMEs to grow, solve problems, and create jobs especially for the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs.
