Nigeria International Agriculture Expo (NIAEXPO 2025) is set to redefine the narrative of agribusiness in Nigeria, showcasing not just our agricultural potential, but the invaluable contributions of women in agribusiness, the power of youth empowerment in agriculture, and the urgent need for resilient agriculture value chains.
At a recent press briefing, Nigeria International Agriculture Expo Project Coordinator Abiodun Olaniyi emphasized that this year’s edition is far more than an exhibition. It’s a dynamic platform aiming to elevate Nigeria’s position along the agricultural spectrum, from upstream production to downstream distribution. Key focus areas include livestock, finance, organic farming, agroecology, and rising crops like broccoli, flowers, and moringa.

Empowering Women and Youth in Agribusiness
Regional Project Lead Adekunle Adamson underlined that 2025’s NIAEXPO is intentionally centered on women and young agripreneurs. The introduction of a Women Entrepreneurship Hub is a standout feature—providing practical workshops on product registration, packaging, marketing, and market entry strategies. “Women are very critical but have not been spotlighted,” Adamson said. “This year, we are ensuring they are given visibility, especially those from rural and subsistence farming backgrounds.”
Beyond that, the agricultural expo includes a special Farmers’ Day, designed to celebrate farmers while delivering hands-on training to boost productivity and close knowledge gaps in agro-logistics and digital agriculture.
The three-day expo draws stakeholders from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and beyond. In previous years, participants from over ten countries, including Russia, India, the U.S., Estonia, and China attended. This year’s edition promises even stronger international partnerships, aimed at driving innovation, capacity building, and global positioning for local agribusinesses.
Crafting a Human-Centered Narrative
At its heart, NIAEXPO 2025 is a story about aspiration, resilience, and inclusion. Picture a rural woman artisan packaging her moringa capsules, eager to learn marketing strategies at the Women Entrepreneurship Hub. Or imagine a young urban graduate discovering how to transform digital agriculture into a viable agritech startup. These stories embody transformation, a personal triumph contributing to national food security and economic growth.
