In a major boost for Nigerian agribusiness and export-driven entrepreneurship, Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) has announced a strategic partnership with the French Government for the 2026 Paris International Agricultural Show — one of the world’s premier agricultural exhibitions.

This collaboration not only spotlights Nigerian farming capabilities but also strengthens France–Nigeria trade relations, opening fresh avenues for Smartpreneurs, agritech innovators, food exporters, and value-chain players looking to scale beyond local markets.

What This Partnership Means

The Salon International de l’Agriculture running from February 21 to March 1, 2026 — attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, thousands of exhibitors, and global industry leaders each year. In the previous edition, the event drew more than 607,000 visitors and nearly 4,000 animals from around the world.

FMN’s participation as a sponsor and official partner for the second time (it debuted in 2024) underscores the company’s commitment to:

  • Boosting Nigerian agricultural exports
  • Increasing global market access for locally made products
  • Expanding sustainable agribusiness partnerships

The company joins other leading Nigerian firms under the France–Nigeria Business Council, a group dedicated to strengthening economic ties and cross-border trade momentum.

Strengthening Global Agribusiness Ties

Speaking on the partnership, FMN’s leadership emphasised the long-term importance of international collaboration. The company has operated in Nigeria and across Africa for over six decades, building a reputation as a trusted food and agro-allied brand.

According to FMN stakeholders:

  • The collaboration reflects shared economic goals with France
  • It supports exchange of innovation and technical expertise
  • It aligns with FMN’s mission to “Feed and Enrich Lives Every Day”

Industry experts point out that such global platforms provide fertile ground for Solopreneurs, agritech startups, food processors, and export-focused businesses to learn, network and expand.

Why the Paris Agricultural Show Matters

The Paris International Agricultural Show  also called Salon International de l’Agriculture — is more than just an exhibition. It’s a global stage where:

  • Innovations in agriculture, sustainability, and food tech are showcased
  • Small and medium enterprises meet investors and partners
  • Export-ready products find new market opportunities

For Nigerian businesses and Smartpreneurs engaged in agribusiness, this represents an unparalleled opportunity for brand visibility and cross-border scaling.

What This Means for Nigerian Exports & Agritech Startups

With FMN championing Nigerian agricultural presence on the world stage, several benefits could follow for local entrepreneurs:

  • Increased visibility for Nigerian agricultural products
  • Enhanced bilateral trade relations with European markets
  • Greater access to global supply chain networks
  • Opportunities for partnerships in agritech innovation, food processing, and logistics
In Summary

The collaboration between Flour Mills of Nigeria and the French Government at the 2026 Paris International Agricultural Show marks a significant milestone for Nigerian agribusiness. It elevates the country’s presence on the global agricultural stage, encourages export-driven entrepreneurship, and creates a roadmap for scaling SMEs and Smartpreneurs within and beyond Africa.
