I found myself constantly tired of my business. Monday was one of those days. I was extremely frustrated because for the entire 7 days in the past week, I hadn’t made a single sale. E nu gbe oooo. No profit, no income, nothing.

As a student, I had spent all my allowance on assignments and projects from all these lecturers and so the profit from my business was what I was using to survive.

Last week wasn’t funny at all. The last 2k I had, I used it to buy stew ingredients in the market, hoping that it would last me for the entire week. The next morning in a bid to make the stew and also multitask to make sure I wasn’t late for class, the stew burnt. Like all of it! I cried very very hard. But guess what? I survived. Man shall not live by bread alone right?

I spent some nights in the hostel of my friends and so I ate together with them whenever any form of chop chop shows.

So, back to Monday, here I was, tired of running from hostel to hostel just to chop, I just said let me just post my products on my WhatsApp status and on my Twitter account as well (by the way, I sell fashion accessories, kitchen/ household items and personal care items as well- hot water packs, etc). So I just posted it and went offline. I was so sad, I went to class and came back and slept off.

I was sleeping when my phone was ringing multiple times. I thought it was one of my friends so I didn’t even want to pick. But by the time I stood up to get to my phone, I saw that they were like 6 different customers requesting for my products. Wowwwww!

I replied to them ASAP while smiling so hard. I was just too excited. 50k is a very big deal oooo. Sometimes, I don’t even make up to that in a week. But in a day? That’s awesome!

I’m hopeful that all the other days of this week will be good too. But na so e be for business owner ooo, not everyday is Christmas. Some days the grass will be green and other days it’s not. Either ways, we embrace each day as it comes and make sure we are prudent in our spending so as not to lack entirely during the raining days cos las las, nah the life wey we sign up for.
