The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has announced the screening dates for the Skill-Up Artisans program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at upskilling and certifying artisans nationwide.
The screening exercise, scheduled to take place from April 29th to May 10th, 2024, marks the first phase of the Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) initiative, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the ITF.
As part of the Federal Government’s plan to retrain and certify 20 million artisans in the next five years, the SUPA initiative seeks to boost the blue-collar job sector and address the dominance of foreign artisans in the Nigerian construction industry.

President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the need for Nigerian artisans to acquire expertise and compete favorably with their foreign counterparts.
The program will identify and categorize artisans from various economic sectors, offering comprehensive, industry-compliant training programs covering a range of trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and more.
Artisans are encouraged to avail themselves of this opportunity by visiting the closest screening centers across all senatorial districts in the country.
