Nimbus Media Ltd and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) have jointly announced the opening of applications for the 2023 iteration of the Nimbus Aid Project, an out-of-home advertising initiative.
This social initiative, led by Nimbus Media Ltd, is set to make a meaningful impact by providing advertising support to 20 businesses in Nigeria that are led by women. The support will come in the form of advertising on Nimbus screens, with a value exceeding N40 million ($53,681). Additionally, successful candidates will receive assistance in marketing and brand development from project collaborators.
The significance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria’s economy is paramount, as they contribute substantially to GDP, employment, and innovation. However, these enterprises, particularly those led by women, often encounter obstacles that impede their growth.
The Nimbus Aid Project has already established a strong legacy of aiding businesses. Since 2016, it has backed 13 organizations, with 11 being led by women, offering them N35 million worth of Digital Out-Of-Home (DOOH) advertising. This backing has resulted in over 2.8 million unique ad views in key Nigerian cities.
The 2023 edition of the project aims to build upon this success by further empowering women-led SMEs. Its objective is to foster an inclusive and economically empowered business environment. Women-led businesses interested in participating in the Nimbus Aid Project 2023 can find application details at https://www.nimbus.com.ng/nimbus-aid-project. The application deadline is Friday, September 8, 2023.
