For you to move forward, you must drop some harmful habits holding you back.

Here are 5 habits to let go of so you can be more productive this year.

1. Trying to be perfect

We are only humans. We all have flaws. Learn to accept your flaws, learn to be a better person and embrace growth. Besides your idea of perfection might be seen as imperfection to someone else. You can please everyone.

2. Not sleeping enough

Sleep is  extremely important to our well-being. We are most likely to be more energized and productive during the day when we get a sufficient amount of night sleep.

Plan your work life with room for sleep.

Unfortunately, so many people including entrepreneurs have busy schedules, making their sleep cycle extremely irregular, and that’s not so good for the human body and mind. If you happen to possess this bad habit, you must seriously consider maintaining an organized schedule.

3. Trying to memorize everything

Do you know that it isn’t ideal to keep to-do lists in your head all the time? Some people never write things down.

It is very easy to forget ideas and commitments. You might even end up experiencing a lot of stress trying recall important things.

When you keep notes in your jotter or device, you can always check them later to see your progress and what to do next.

4. Thinking that you know it all

Do not be ashamed to ask questions and learn from people you think you are ‘bigger’ than. You can learn a thing or two from your employees, younger siblings, etc.

5. Trying to live up to people’s expectations.
Do whatever you can to set high standards for yourself, set your own goals, achieve them and celebrate your wins no matter how little or irrelevant others think they are.
