I guess you have some Detty December ideas in mind, but your account balance is telling you to take a chill, and spend the day indoors. Or maybe you are already thinking of all the bills you have to take care of in January. The only way out is looking for ways to make some money this Christmas.

Here are a few business ideas you could consider for the Christmas season:

Start a gift-wrapping service.

Gift wrapping is not as easy as it seems, and in fact many people are willing to pay for professional gift-wrapping services, especially during the busy holiday season. You could offer your services at malls, shopping centers, or even set up a booth in a high-traffic area.

Better still, you can even add gift selection to the idea. Some people walk into a mall and get confused on what to gift their loved ones. You can help out with idea and go further to add gift-wrapping to it. If you are the poetic type, a beautiful card with some poetic lines would just be the perfect icing on the cake.

Sell Christmas decorations service

People love to decorate their homes and businesses for Christmas, so selling Christmas decorations could be a profitable venture. You could offer a wide range of decorations, from traditional to modern, and cater to different budgets.

The easy way to go about it can be to move around the market and malls, get nice pictures of these decorations and then market it to your audience, starting with those on your contact list. Home delivery and setting it up should be part of the service. For this idea, you have to be watchful and security conscious as well. You can get someone to accompany you if you need to go set it up.

Offer a holiday photography service.

People often want to capture special memories during the Christmas season, so offering a holiday photography service could be a great business idea. You could offer portrait sessions, family photos, and even pet photos.

Of course, you know that you should have a good camera to do this, or at least a phone that you know can get the job done. Photo and video-editing skills would also come in handy here, so that you can create all of the pictures and videos into beautiful memories for your clients.

Create and sell Christmas gift baskets/hampers

Gift baskets are always a popular gift option, and you could create unique, themed baskets for the Christmas season. You could offer a variety of options, such as food and drink baskets, pampering baskets, and children’s baskets.

Sell Food and Snack packages

What is a Christmas without anything to eat or drink? There is no way we could conclude this list without adding the all-favourite food business. This season, you can prepare food and snack packages and sell. The beautiful part is that you do not have to sweat in the kitchen doing the cooking all by yourself. If you know a good caterer and confectioner, you can just play middleman and make some money out of it.

Customize packages like a 5 litre bowl of jollof rice and 6 pieces of chicken, or a 3 litre bowl of fried rice and 5 pieces of turkey etc. You can add platter of snacks and small chops as well.

Christmas shopping

A lot of people are going to be working right up to Christmas Eve, and it would be a good idea if you make some money by handling their Christmas shopping. Some others may just want to avoid the stress that comes with shopping this season, especially with the heavy traffic situation. Jump on this business idea and lets see how it goes.

In conclusion…

These are just a few ideas to get you started. You could also consider offering holiday meal services, hosting holiday events, or even starting a Santa Claus or holiday character entertainment business. The key is to offer something unique and valuable to customers during the busy holiday season.
