I’m certain most business owners and vendors have experienced the disaster that is logistics companies, in fact, let’s stop cutting corners; delivery guys!
To be honest these people should come with free trials which you unsubscribe to after discovering their wickedness and terror. yes, it’s that deep.
I own a boutique and as expected I have to make use of these people, I’ve had too many experiences with them but there is a particular experience that I will never forget in my life.
By the grace of God, I run a successful business that is well known and has a reputation to keep up with, I always try to maintain good relationships with my buyers and render the best service possible as I would want them to keep coming back.
I have employees on standby, working different roles to enable a smooth run of activities and ensure quality control, so if I go out of my way to make sure that things are done properly, best believe that I would hate for anything to ruin or tarnish my reputation or business.
The story begins like this, A customer once ordered some clothing’s from my store and after payments were made and details collected, it was left to the delivery company to have the package delivered to the customer.
One evening I got a message from a customer complaining about how she was disappointed at my service and the fact that an order she made 3 days ago had not yet reached her. I immediately tried to pacify her and told her that I would contact the logistics company and find out what the problem was.
After a lot of Back and forth with the logistics company, I was told that some orders were delayed because of the unavailability of riders and that the remaining packages will be sent out. I relayed this message to my unhappy customer and promised that the package will get to her the next day.
The next day arrived and of course, I called the company again and they assured me that the remaining packages will be sent out, I passed the message unto the customer.
I woke up the next day to numerous comments and tags on my business page calling me a scammer, I was so confused and shattered. The image I had set for my brand was crashing and I didn’t know where to start.
I visited the logistics company office to really find out what was happening, I checked the records and was able to find out the particular dispatch rider that took the order, I found -out that the order had been taken out since and still hadn’t gotten to the customer. I had the manager call the dispatch rider who took the particular order and that was how we discovered that he had kept the package at his house and that the clothes had been worn by someone else. who turned out t-o be his wife! this man used a customer’s order to do lover boy.
I mean who even does that?
Anyways I got back to my customer and Informed her of the situation, luckily she was understanding almost as though she could relate, and then she just asked for another item and that was how we settled it.
You see these people they call delivery guys, fear them!
