Normally, the businesses with high quality of goods and services are the ones who should receive the highest number of customers but that’s not the reality. The reality is that business is first of all a contention of popularity than it is of ability.

The truth is that today, people take visibility as ability. Even if you’re the absolute best at what you do and no one knows about you, they won’t choose you. Even your products won’t be able to help you attract customers cause people don’t even know about it.

So, online visibility for your business is about how easy and how fast your business can be found when being searched by potential customers.

For example, if you sell household utensils, when someone searches for “best household utensils” on search engines like Google and so on, does your business pop up? If yes, where? Because if your business comes up on the first page, customers are most likely going to view your profile and go through your stuff to see what you have.

The goal is making your business visible online is assuming your audience are searching for you and making yourself available to them. Very few people want to go to the market these days or visit physical locations where your goods might be.

The truth about making your business visible online is that as more people are knowing about your business, it’s more profit to you. Even if they don’t patronize or they change their minds, they’ll always remember whenever their friends are searching for things that your business has to offer and let them know.

Why Online visibility is important for your business

  • People won’t patronize you if they don’t know you.

I talked about this in the beginning of this article. Whatever people don’t know is available to them is of no use to them. This is a very important reason why your business should be visible online.

Even if you have physical presence and many storefronts, it won’t hurt to have your business visible online because like I said, not many people have the time or strength to be visiting stores and thankfully technology has made it very easy for them.

  • Automatic Star ranking.

One key reason why your business should be visible online is that the more your proposed customers hear and read about you, the more they see you as a worthy business to be patronized.

This is why your business needs to be visible online in every place and medium your customers will search for you. As you make your business visible on google, adverts, Facebook posts and so on, it gives you an automatic star ranking.

  • You can get the attention of your prospective customers and keep it on you

When your prospective customers keep seeing your business online, there’s a huge chance they’ll go and check out your website. That’s how you can keep their attention on you!

By the time they get to your website, give them a few minutes to see more of what you have to offer and then insert a pop- up form to get their contact details. Once they’re on your list, you can constantly keep your business in their minds.

  • Out of sight is out of mind

Even though some of your prospective customers won’t make a purchase immediately, when your business is constantly in view, whenever they are ready to make that decision to buy or know friends who have a need for what your business has to offer, you are most likely to get the call.

On the contrary, what isn’t consistently put in front of people is often forgotten. Because the kind retains information of what it sees constantly, sometimes consciously and even unconsciously.

  • Consistency is a key that opens many doors.

Inconsistency to most customers is a turn off. You’re considered as unserious and unprepared when you’re not constantly putting in efforts to make your business known and visible.

On the contrary, when your prospective customers can see that you’re constantly marketing yourself, it’s highly attractive. I remember patronizing a clothing store because I had consistently seen her adverts on my social media page. I wasn’t ready to buy anything at that time but when I was, I knew who to call.
