They will provide regulatory compliance, channels accountability, and transparency needed for the initiative.

According to the company, the effort is to reduce the impact of this pandemic on the vulnerable led by bold, empathy-driven actions. “Together, we can give millions of Lagosians hope and help them get back on their feet. Nothing is too small for someone in need,” Yomi Adedeji, CEO Softcom, said in a note seen by Smartpreneur.

What is HelpNow

HelpNow is an initiative of Softcom set up to deliver N5,000 to 2 million vulnerable Lagosians through the kindness of individuals.

Each beneficiary will receive 5,000 Naira each in their bank accounts or phone numbers. They will be able to access the money through bank channels, SANEF agents, and ATMs.
How it works

  • Identification

2,000,000+ of the neediest people and families in Lagos State were identified via reliable sources:
Petty Traders
Physically Challenged
Poorest Households
The Elderly

  • Verification

We verified each person and got their consent to raise support for them.

  • Donation

We want to give them ₦5,000 (13 USD) each with your help.

  • Disbursements

The money will be disbursed directly to each beneficiary’s bank account or phone number.

  • Transparency

Deloitte will also provide frequent updates on donations and disbursements through @helpnowng Twitter handle.
