My name is Adeyanju Fakayejo but a lot of people know me as Yanju or godofthe90s, I am a photographer, graphic designer, and creative director, I actually started photography in 2016 but I wasn’t able to get a camera until 2017 and that was where it all began.

Being a creative is actually not so easy especially in Nigeria because a lot of people don’t understand the value it brings to the society, my first year as a photographer was the hardest, because i was trying to find myself, find my niche and in most cases it isn’t easy, it took a long time for me to find my own style and what I want to be recognized for.

There is a lot of money in photography and graphic designing, especially if you are skilled one but in Nigeria it’s a different ball game, at some point in my career i  started to recognize that it’s not really about how good you are, but about the relationships you make, I came across clients that would rather give jobs to people they knew rather than people who are more acclaimed in the field.

This is why photography is not just about knowing the job alone, but also relationships, you also need to build a portfolio and with a good portfolio you would be able get more clients easily. I have worked with so many companies, brands and people over the years, not every experience was a memorable one, but i learnt and evolved overtime, working with brands like power horse, and companies like AELEX and opera ads put my price up and it has been wonderful all the way, the growth has been amazing and I still have a long way to go.
