Webinar: Smartpreneur To Discuss Access To Capital, Grants and Loans for Smes

Small and medium enterprises are very important to the development of a country’s economy and have been known to play a very vital role in the reduction of unemployment in Nigeria. Despite the importance of SMEs, the sector has been plaqued by lack of finance and easily accessible funds to grow.

Prioritizing SME development is critical for promoting inclusive economic growth, but for SMEs to survive and thrive, adequate access to finance and enhancement of their productivity is very important.

In this regard, the third edition of the Smartpreneur webinar series for SMEs is designed to empower participants, discuss sources of finance for businesses, how to improve SMEs’ access to capital, grant and accessible loans and also to explore potential policy framework needed to scale up access to funds.

The virtual event tagged Improving Access To Capital, Grants And Accessible Loans for Smes is designed to facilitate interactive discussions among speakers and participants in order to extract real needs and opportunities toward a new regime of SME finance in Nigeria.

The webinar is set to hold on Saturday, August 14th 2021 at 10am live on Zoom. The webinar will see guest speakers- Stella Adebayo, CEO, Bizgrant and Taiwo Joda, CEO, Accion Microfinance Bank- share insights on the easiest and cheapest ways SMEs can get funds for their businesses.

Stella Adebayo, is a transformational and charismatic Social Entrepreneur with an outstanding experience in teaching, digital marketing, sales, creative business plan development and funding for young startups.

She holds a double Honors degree in French Language, Education from the Prestigious University of Lagos and an MBA in business management from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Knowing that one major challenge young businesses have is access finance, she created bizgrant a virtual information hub with a mission to provide atleast 50,000 entrepreneurs & business owners in the next 10 years with regular updates on latest grants, funding & personal development opportunities to either start, support or scale up their businesses.

Taiwo Joda is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in leading teams, strategy formulation, banking, and managing digital transformation programs to achieve financial inclusion objectives.

With over 27 years of experience and expertise in strategic planning and stakeholder management, Mr. Joda has been able to steer organizations and teams into performance and prominence.

He currently serves as a member of several committees including the Steering Committee – National Microfinance Platform, National Association of Microfinance Bank Advocacy group, and heads the advisory board of Microfinance Learning and Development Center.

Taiwo is a Member – Governing Council, Fintech Association of Nigeria, and the NASSBER working group of The National Economic Summit Group (NESG).

The event will be moderated by business analyst and Presenter, Fagbo Frank.
